OPKO Announces U.S. Launch of RAYALDEE™

MIAMI, Nov. 23, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- OPKO Health, Inc. (Nasdaq:OPK), today announced that it will commence shipments of RAYALDEE™ (calcifediol) extended-release capsules to distributors in the United States on Tuesday, November 29, 2016.  The product will be available nationwide at retail pharmacies as early as Wednesday, November 30, 2016.

The U.S. launch of RAYALDEE follows the successful introduction of the product to thousands of nephrologists attending the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Kidney Week Meeting last week in Chicago.  RAYALDEE was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on June 17, 2016.

die Zulassungskriterien der FDA sind wesendlich härter als die der European Commission (EC).

Tesaro (NASDAQ:TSRO) should have the IV version of Varubi approved in early 2017, which could increase the royalty stream for OPKO in late 2017 and beyond.

Rayaldee is the first and only FDA-approved product for the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism or SHPT in adult patients with stage 3 or 4 chronic kidney disease and vitamin D insufficiency. gerade wo ich gestern nochmal gekauft hatte...aber denke das ist nicht so entscheidend für das Unternehmenswachstum...wichtig ist das Rayaldee im neuen Jahr anläuft  

Heute kann man nur tatenlos zusehen, wie sich die Euros erstmal auflösen. Das ärgerliche an der Sache ist wenn die Studie erfolgreich abgeschossen wurden wäre . Hätte es wohl ein approved für das Hormon(Phase 3) gegeben und somit neuere Zahlungen von Pfizer.

Montag beginnt ein neues Jahr und damit auch ein neuer Abschnitt für Opko. Die bereits erhaltenen Milestone zahlungen müssen wohl auch nicht zurückgezahlt werden. Was Rayaldee angeht rechne ich erst mit den April Quartalszahlen mit einem Wachstumsschub. Erst einmal auf das Approved von Varubi  (Tesaro ) hoffen.

Details of the deal
Tesaro paid $6 million up front to Opko Health and agreed to a total package of milestone payments worth up to $121 million.

Included in those payments are a $15 million milestone payable upon the first sale of Varubi in the U.S. and another $10 million milestone payment payable upon the first sale of Varubi in the EU, where it isn't approved yet.

An additional $85 million in milestone payments will be made if the drug eclipses specific annual sales hurdles. Specifically, multimillion-dollar payments will be made to Opko Health if Varubi generates calendar-year sales in excess of $150 million, $300 million, and $500 million.

Opko Health will also receive royalty payments from Tesaro on sales of Varubi that are tiered and based on sales.

Although Opko Health hasn't disclosed the royalty rates that it will receive, combining information provided through annual reports by both Opko Health and Tesaro indicate that royalty percentage rates range from the low teens to the low twenties, and that those rates will be dictated by calendar-year sales.  

 

Erstmal möchte ich ein Lob an dich Aussprechen Spaetschicht und mich dafür bedanken das du uns hier so fleißig informierst. Deine Beiträge und Verlinkungen sind immer sehr informativ und sparen mir viel arbeit da ich die Infos nicht selbst suchen muss :)

Dann noch zum Rückschlag, das ein Produkt in der Pharmaindustrie bei der Forschungsphase mal durchfällt ist wohl eher die Regel als die Ausnahme, deswegen bereitet mir das eigentlich garkein Kopfzerbrechen. Mit Rayaldee (kann mir jmd sagen wie man das ausspricht xD?) steht opko immernoch super da.

Ich gehe von einem starken Jahr 2017 aus wenn Rayaldee langsam am Markt ankommt und überlege gerade nochmal bisschen nach zu legen.



Bezüglich Trump mache ich mir garkeine Gedanken, der gute Mann hat soviel vor, dass er das nicht alles und schon garnicht in dem von Ihm gewünschten Ausmaß wird durchziehen können (vieles von dem was er vor hat sehe ich übrigens garnicht mal so negativ ich bin pro Trump)  

gehören zu jeder Biotech Aktie mit dazu. Es läuft halt nicht immer gerade aus.

Leider kann ich nur das hereinstellen was ich über die Aktie herausfinde. Ich würde gerne mehr über das Medikament erfahren . Was es so speziell macht. Ich bin halt kein Mediziner und habe nur begrenzte Möglichkeiten.
