HONG KONG (XFN-ASIA) - China Life Insurance Co Ltd said it has subscribed for about 651.47 mln H-shares and 1.28 bln A-shares of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) for a total consideration of 5.93 bln hkd.

It said the total number of shares will represent approximately 0.57836 pct of ICBC's outstanding shares immediately following the completion of its global offering and its A-share offering assuming that over-allotment option is exercised for both the offerings.

'Through the...subscription in ICBC, the company strives to further improve its investment return and create greater value for shareholders,' China Life said in a statement.

China Life expected to issue 1.5 bln A-shares by year end - sources

SHANGHAI (XFN-ASIA) - China Life Insurance (HK 2628) is likely to get approval from the securities regulator to issue 1.5 bln A-shares by the end of this year, market sources said.

A fund manager, who declined to be named, told XFN-Asia,'China Life is likely to complete its A-share listing by the year end.'

'The insurer is expected to issue 1.5 bln A-shares at about 16 yuan each, in line with its current H-share valuations,' said Chen Huiqin, an analyst at Huatai Securities.

Another brokerage source told XFN-Asia that CITIC Securities Co Ltd (SHA 600030) and BOC International are the lead underwriters of China Life's Shanghai offering.

Mit der China Life Insurance wird der erste chinesische Versicherer an die chinesische Börse gehen. Das Unternehmen plant ein Listing von 1,5 Mrd. A-Shares an der Shanghai Stock Exchange. Ein Termin wurde noch nicht bekannt gegeben.
Die Regulierungsbehörde gibt dem Versicherer den Vorzug vor der Industrial Bank, an welcher die Hang Seng Bank mit 16 % beteiligt ist. Die Bank hatte bereits im vergangenen Jahr den Antrag zu einem 10 Mrd. Yuan schweren A-Share Listing gestellt. Im Zuge des durchgeführten IPOs der ICBC wird ein neuerliches Banken-IPO zu Gunsten des Versicherungs IPO zurückgestellt. Die Industrial Bank kann eventuell im Führjahr 2007 an die Börse gehen, eine Entscheidung dazu wurde aber noch nicht getroffen.
Die Aktie von China Life erreichte heute mit 17,34 HKD ein neues Allzeithoch. Aus dem Handel ging es mit einem Aufschlag von 2,14 % auf 17,20 HKD, was ebenfalls über dem alten Hoch lag.
 

Die Aktie der China Life Insurance wurde während des heutigen Handels bei einem Kurs von 18,02 HKD ausgesetzt. Als Begründung wurden Kursrelevante Nachrichten angegeben.
Bis zur Aussetzung wurden etwa 41 Millionen Shares mit einem Volumen von 733 Mio. HKD gehandelt und die Aktie erreichte Zeitweise ihr 52 Wochenhoch von 18,12 HKD.
Vor zwei Tagen teilte das Unternehmen mit, dass das A-Sharelisting an der Shanghaier Börse Ende Januar nächsten Jahres durchgeführt werden soll. Es ist die Platzierung von 1,5 Mrd. Shares geplant, welche dem chinesischen Versicherer etwa 25 Mrd. Yuan (3,2 Mrd. USD) in die Kasse spülen soll. Das Festland IPO wird durch die CITIC Securities Co Ltd, China Galaxy Securities und China International Capital Corp (CICC) durchgeführt.

HONG KONG, Nov 16 (Reuters) - A Citigroup-led investment team won a 24.3 billion yuan ($3.1 billion) bid for control of Guangdong Development Bank (GDB), capping a battle for the troubled southern China lender that lasted for more than a year.
Citigroup (C.N: Quote, Profile, Research), top life insurer China Life Insurance Co. (2628.HK: Quote, Profile, Research) (LFC.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and China's State Grid Corp. are each taking 20 percent stakes in the Chinese bank, according to a statement cited by a GDB official on Thursday.
International Business Machines (IBM.N: Quote, Profile, Research) will take a 4.7 percent stake, while China's CITIC Trust and Investment and Puhua Investment will take respective 12.8 and 8 percent stakes.
The consortium, which only recently confirmed its members and the size of their stakes, bested France's Societe Generale (SOGN.PA: Quote, Profile, Research), which had teamed up with China's Baoshan Iron and Steel Co. (600019.SS: Quote, Profile, Research) and top Asian oil refiner Sinopec Corp. (600028.HK: Quote, Profile, Research)

China Life aims RMB 29 bln from Shanghai IPO


Dec. 13, 2006 (China Knowledge) – China Life Insurance, the largest provider of life insurance in the Mainland, is aiming to raise up to RMB 29 billion from its IPO on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, according to the South China Morning Post on Wednesday.

The leading life insurance company in China said that it plans to issue around 1.5 billion A-shares, or 5.3% of its total enlarged share capital. Proceeds from the IPO will be used to enlarge its capital base, as well as to expand the company's market share with the possibility of acquisitions.

China Life raised more than RMB 27 billion when it was listed in Hong Kong and New York in December 2003.

SHANGHAI (XFN-ASIA) - China Life Insurance (HK 2628), the country's top life insurer, is expected to raise up to 28 bln yuan from a Shanghai A-share offering, state media reported.

China Life is working to complete the offer of up to 1.5 bln A-shares by the end of the year for a January debut on the Shanghai bourse, the official China Securities Journal reported.

The shares are likely to be priced at around a 10 pct discount to the closing price of its Hong Kong listed shares yesterday, or 19.02 hkd, the paper said, citing investment bank sources.

That would fix the range of proceeds at 25-28 bln yuan, the report said.

The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) will review China Life's A-share offering application on Friday.

Der Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI), in welchem die H-Shares der Festlandunternehmen vereinigt sind, erreichte heute mit 8.989 Punkten ein neues Allzeithoch.
Ganz oben in der Gewinnerleiste stand die Aktie der Shanghai Electric. Sie katapultierte sich um 9 Prozent nach oben. Auf den fordersten Plätzen lagen die Werte der Versicherungsgesellschaften Ping An, PICC und China Life.
Ebenfalls kräftig zugewinnen konnten die Kohleunternehmen China Shenhua und Yanzhou Coal.
Zu den größten Verlierern gehörte der Energieversorger Huadian Power. Hier ging es um über 5 Prozent nach unten. Ein weiterer großer Verlierer war Sinotrans mit einem Minus von 3,6 Prozent.
