“SKF has managed the business well in a weakening economic environment and our efforts to reduce costs are contributing to a strong and stable operating margin in the quarter with an underlying margin of 11.3%. We had higher realized cost savings than cost increases, resulting in a positive net contribution to operating profit in the quarter.

Cash flow was SEK 2,120 million (SEK 1,626) – a strong performance, highlighting our ability to generate a strong cash flow, even in periods of a weaker demand.

Restructuring costs and customer settlements had a negative impact on operating profit of SEK 272 million. A VAT credit in Brazil had a positive impact of SEK 180 million. The reported operating profit for the quarter was SEK 2,288 million and the reported operating margin was 10.9% (12.2%).

<description>SKF issues its first green bond (SKF B), Gothenburg, 8 November 2019: SKF has, as one of the first industrial companies, issued a green bond. The bond will raise EUR 300 million to fund eligible green projects in accordance with SKF's recently launched Green Finance Framework.

SKF's green bond has received much attention from investors and it was oversubscribed four times. The proceeds from the bond will finance green investments that reduce CO2 emissions and impact from SKF's own operations and supply chain operations, as well as supporting customers to reduce their emissions. This will be done through capital investment in manufacturing, plant and property and R&amp;D related to cleantech industries.

Niclas Rosenlew, Senior Vice President and CFO, says: "We are very pleased with the vast interest from investors from all over Europe for our green bond. This shows the capital market's confidence in SKF's financial strength."

TAIPEI (XFN-ASIA) - SKF Group (Nachrichten) said it has signed an agreement to acquire Taiwan's ABBA Linear Tech Co Ltd (1575.TW), with the acquisition subject to the successful completion of a tender offer by ABBA Linear's controlling shareholder and relevant regulatory approvals.

The transaction is expected to be finalized during the second quarter this year, according to an SKF statement.

With the addition of ABBA Linear's product range, SKF is reinforcing its position in linear guides, it said, adding that the acquisition is in line with the SKF Group's strategy to strengthen its different technology platforms and to grow in Asia.

ABBA Linear, a manufacturer of profile rail guides, will be part of the SKF Actuation&amp;Motion Control business unit within the Industrial Division, the statement added.
